Schefflera Arboricola prefer bright indirect sunlight, too much direct light will causes the leaves to burn. Placing near an east facing window is a good place to keep them happy. When it comes to watering they do not like their soil too wet or too dry, watering so the soil is moist will keep your plant healthy. Young Schefflera plants require to be re-potted annually as they grow quite quickly, once your plant develops it will only need to be re-potted every 2-3 years. Adding drainage and light airy soil will reduce the chance of root rot caused by over watering.
